Moving more

A new study of 83,000 people found that standing does little (perhaps nothing) to fight heart disease. “Stationary time” is bad - hours of standing elevates circulatory disease risk, and hours of sitting is associated with greater risk of both cardiovascular disease and circulatory disease. You need to move to improve your health. If you’re going to sit and stand for work, limit both to 30 minutes at a time, and insert a movement break before you change position.

Plant protein

30 years of follow-up in over 70,000 women showed that risk of cardiovascular disease and coronary artery disease was lower with higher intakes of plant protein over animal protein. The greatest protective effect came from a higher plant to animal protein ratio combined with higher protein density.
